'No plan merits close scrutiny'. Whilst exploring possibly the longest ice-climbing route in Wales, Grugog Gully*, I decided to explore further; Indeed, I traveled across some wild, open terrain and discovered some undiscovered crags. On the day, it did not feel like winter (despite encountering water ice in all the streams that I passed), but was more like summer. However, when venturing into the shade, the depths of winter could still be felt. It was a remarkable contrast.
